The city of Saltillo is a well developed city, located northeast Mexico and is the Capital of Coahuila State with 850,000 inhabitants. It is the second apple region in Mexico with 10,000 hectares. The area also has 8,000 hectares of pecan trees and quite a few peaches, cherries and berries. It is also an important region for dairy, potato, carrot, celery, broccoli, cut flowers, wheat, corn and beans. Climate in October is dry and the temperature is around 18-24ºC. Saltillo can be reached by a direct flight from Houston, TX. and/or México City. All participants can consider flight to Monterrey, N.L. airport and by bus to Saltillo (1 h).
